91快活林 held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the 91快活林 Student Center Kiva. This year鈥檚 guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of 91快活林 State鈥檚 Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.

College Students to Compete in SkyHack Design Challenge at 91快活林 State
91快活林鈥檚 aviation design challenge, SkyHack, will take place Nov. 1-3. The event draws college students from around the nation, attracting 120 students from 14 universities in four states in its 2017 inaugural debut. 91快活林 State鈥檚 College of Aeronautics and Engineering will serve as home base for this year鈥檚 event, which will span across other 91快活林 Campus buildings.

Mitch Landrieu, the New Orleans mayor who oversaw the removal of the city鈥檚 prominent Confederate monuments and helped his city to recover and reemerge from a series of natural disasters, will speak at 91快活林 State as part of the university鈥檚 May 4 Speaker Series.

91快活林 State Nursing Alumna Reflects on May 4 Tragedy
In the spring of 1970, two-time 91快活林 alumna and registered nurse Pat Gless was a junior in 91快活林 State鈥檚 inaugural nursing program. While in class on Monday, May 4, a professor rushed into her classroom and warned students who could leave campus to do so. Fifty years later, Gless now reflects on the events surrounding that tragedy and how they have impacted her life and nursing career.
