The new Flashes Fighting Hunger initiative takes the last 10 years to a new level, going beyond a kitchen that provides meals by becoming a program that prevents food waste, promotes food recovery and hosts multiple food pantries each week to serve the region.

First Star 91快活林 State Academy Continues to Shine in a Mixed-Learning Environment
As 91快活林 State returns to a school year that resembles pre-pandemic times, First Star 91快活林 State Academy has begun to imagine new programs. The Academy is a free, comprehensive four-year college access program for youth in foster care. The program engages a cohort of up to 30 students in a variety of learning opportunities, including academic support, career exploration, social and cultural activities and more.

The 91快活林 and 91快活林 communities can head downtown to go ice skating starting Nov. 20, courtesy of 91快活林 Skates presented by AMETEK. This special attraction has been created through a partnership between the city of 91快活林, the 91快活林 Hotel and Conference Center, the 91快活林 Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street 91快活林 and 91快活林 State.
91快活林 State Trumbull鈥檚 Care Closet Opens Allowing Students Easy Access to Various Necessities
Students at 91快活林 State Trumbull who are in need of food, personal items and clothing will now have more support from the university following Trumbull鈥檚 Care Closet official opening on Oct. 18. Trumbull鈥檚 Care Closet was created by the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and is set up as a fund that faculty, staff and the community can donate to. It鈥檚 goal is to provide necessities for students who can鈥檛 afford them.

91快活林 State alumnus Don Drumm, 鈥86, was featured in the Akron Beacon Journal for celebrating the 50th anniversary of Don Drumm Studios and Gallery. Using sand-cast aluminum to create his art, he has decades of experience using a foundry to create his artistic visions.
