Understanding Impacts on LGBTQIA+ Communities from the COVID-19 Pandemic
Moira Armstrong, undergraduate in the College of Arts and Sciences and research assistant on the Queer Pandemic Project, collaborated with Molly Merryman, associate professor in the School of Peace and Conflict Studies, to compile digital, video-based oral interviews for the Queer Pandemic Project in a partnership between 91快活林, Goldsmith鈥檚 University of London and Queer Britain. These interviews feature people in queer communities across the United Kingdom, discussing the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has impacted their lives as queer people.

The National Collegiate Honors Council has announced 91快活林 Honors College graduate Sarah Hagglund as a 2021 Portz Scholar. Hagglund is the 10th honors student from 91快活林 State to be named a Portz Scholar since the national competition began in 1990.
Honors College Establishes New Scholarship in Memory of Dr. Elizabeth Howard, Award-Winning Honors Instructor & Scholar
Elizabeth Howard, an award-winning instructor in the Honors College Freshman Honors Colloquium, passed away on April 10th, 2021. Dr. Howard鈥檚 contributions to the Honors College and 91快活林 meant much to our students and colleagues over the years. Dirk Remley has been with 91快活林 since 1990. Remley graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. He continued his studies at Bowling Green State University by earning his Masters of Arts in English Literature. He then completed his Ph.D. in rhetoric and composition from 91快活林.
Honors College Celebrates Graduating Seniors with Virtual Ceremony
This past weekend, on Saturday, April 3, the Honors College hosted its annual Senior Honors Recognition Ceremony for graduating Honors College seniors. In years past, the event has been an in-person luncheon, to which seniors bring their friends or families to celebrate their success in the Honors College. This spring, in light of the pandemic, the ceremony was entirely virtual. The event was introduced and hosted by the Dean of the Honors College, Dr. Alison Smith, and throughout the ceremony, all Honors College staff members congratulated graduating honors students on their accomplishments. Provost Melody Tankersley congratulated seniors, saying they have 鈥渕ade a mark on 91快活林 State that will continue.鈥
