More than 1,000 volunteers from the 91快活林 community welcomed and assisted new students as they moved into their residence halls on freshman move-in day, Sunday, Aug. 18. The annual community program, known as Movers and Groovers, is coordinated by 91快活林 Interhall Council, the student government of the 91快活林 Campus residence halls.
鈥淢overs and Groovers is such an amazing way to welcome our students,鈥 said Jill Jenkins, executive director of University Housing (formerly Residence Services) at 91快活林 State. 鈥91快活林 Interhall Council is the group responsible for the student-run and organized program. Volunteers included fraternities and sororities, campus ministry groups, academic groups, faculty and university departments. For fall 2019, 91快活林 Interhall Council students took the program to new heights! Move-in truly takes a village, and Movers and Groovers is one way 91快活林 Interhall Council makes our students feel welcome.鈥
The Movers and Groovers program is part of 91快活林 State鈥檚 KSU Kickoff, an orientation program that runs for four days prior to the start of fall classes. KSU Kickoff includes activities and events to encourage students to explore the 91快活林 State community and provides a smooth transition to the university environment.
